Wizz Air expands European network with new routes in Slovakia and Spain

Wizz Air is rapidly growing its presence in Europe. In Slovakia the carrier now serves 35 destinations across 15 countries from Bratislava, Košice and Poprad‑Tatry airports, operating four Airbus A320 family aircraft and achieving a 99.87 % on‑time record. It plans to raise capacity to 3.1 million seats by 2026, almost five‑fold the 2025 level, and has introduced new summer routes such as Nice, Podgorica and Mykonos.

At the same time, the airline is expanding in Spain, where it intends to increase seat offering by 39 % and carry 13 million passengers in 2026, up from 9.6 million the previous year. More than 40 new routes to Spanish airports have been launched or are planned, including services from Kraków to Bilbao and Warsaw to Mallorca, despite Wizz Air having no operational base in the country. The move exploits Ryanair’s reduced service to regional Spanish airports following a dispute over airport fees.
