Wizz Air expands Naples operations with new routes and aircraft

Wizz Air has announced a major expansion at Naples Capodichino Airport, set to begin in March 2027. The airline will integrate a fourth Airbus A321neo into its Naples-based fleet, a move expected to add over 500,000 seats to the market and establish the carrier as the second largest domestic operator at the airport.

The expansion includes the launch of four new routes from Naples: daily flights to Palermo, five weekly flights to Nice, four weekly flights to Basel, and four weekly flights to Genoa. Additionally, the airline will increase its Budapest service from seven to nine weekly frequencies and extend its Hurghada route to year-round service.

From Genoa, Wizz Air will launch its first domestic route connecting to Naples, operating four times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This new connection aims to serve both tourist flows and travelers moving for work, study, or family reasons.

This growth initiative, supported by airport management company Gesac, is projected to create approximately 40 direct jobs and 350 indirect jobs. The airline's total network from Naples will expand to 30 destinations across 14 countries.
