Wizz Air expands network with eight new airports

Wizz Air is expanding its European and North African network by adding eight new airports to its operations. The expansion, scheduled between August 2026 and July 2027, includes destinations in Romania, Turkey, Egypt, Spain, Croatia, and Greece.

Romania remains a central market for the airline. The city of Oradea represents the largest addition by scheduled flight volume, with 312 departures planned to connect with Milan Bergamo, Rome Fiumicino, and Dortmund. These routes will be operated by Wizz Air Malta using Airbus A321neo aircraft. The airline expects to offer 18.5 million seats in the Romanian market this calendar year, a 13.6 percent increase.

Other key additions include Ankara in Turkey, Alexandria in Egypt, Mahón on the Spanish island of Menorca, and Rijeka and Zadar in Croatia. In Greece, the airline is expanding its presence with service to Kefalonia and Kalamata. The expansion highlights a strategic balance between established regional markets and seasonal leisure tourism.
