Wizz Air expands operations and recruitment in Bulgaria
Wizz Air is expanding its operations and workforce in Bulgaria, where it currently holds a 33% market share. The low-cost carrier operates 72 routes across 20 countries, having transported approximately 3.2 million passengers to and from Bulgaria over the past year. The airline maintains bases in Sofia and Varna with a total of 11 aircraft and provides nearly 5 million seats annually through Sofia, Varna, Burgas, and Plovdiv.
To support this growth, the company is recruiting new crew members, including experienced pilots and cadets through the Wizz Air Pilot Academy. Additionally, Wizz Air has introduced a series of special flight schedules designed to facilitate travel for football fans attending major European club tournaments. These additional flights connect various European destinations to match key fixtures throughout the upcoming football season.
