Wizz Air launches new base at Palermo Falcone‑Borsellino Airport

Wizz Air inaugurated a new operational base at Palermo's Falcone‑Borsellino Airport, celebrated with a ceremony attended by Palermo mayor Roberto Lagalla and representatives of the airport authority GESAP. The airline began operations with two Airbus A321neo aircraft and announced a third will join soon. The base will support daily Palermo‑Turin flights and increase frequencies on existing domestic routes to Milan, Bologna, Venice, Rome and Pisa, as well as new international services to Tel Aviv and Sharm el‑Sheikh.

The airport, located about 35 km north of Palermo, is served by regular bus connections that take 40–50 minutes to reach the city centre, providing travelers with convenient ground transport options for the expanded flight schedule.
