Wizz Air operates record 1,200 flights in a single day

Wizz Air announced that it operated 1,200 flights in a 24‑hour period, transporting more than 260,000 passengers. The milestone was reached as the low‑cost carrier continued to expand its fleet, which now numbers 267 modern aircraft.

The record day covered routes to 45 countries and 185 airports, involving roughly 4,000 crew members and thousands of engineers, ground staff and other personnel. Chief Operations Officer Diarmuid O’Conghaile said the achievement reflects both the airline’s fleet growth and sustained strong demand for leisure and family travel.

In May, Wizz Air reported a 99.99% flight completion rate across its network and on‑time performance of 82.67% for arrivals within 15 minutes of schedule, as industry forecasts anticipate passenger traffic in Europe to rise by about 2.8% in 2026.
