Wojciech Król faces corruption investigation and arrest request

The European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) has filed a request for the temporary arrest of Wojciech Król, a member of the Civic Coalition parliamentary club. Investigators are looking into two potential corruption cases involving the MP.

In the first case, investigators allege Król collaborated with an automotive industry businessman. Allegations include receiving a 2,500 euro bribe, the use of a luxury Mercedes V-class during trips to Italy, and an all-expenses-paid trip to Thailand. It is further alleged that Król promised to facilitate state contracts with the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Interior and Administration, including a potential 100 million PLN contract with a Vietnamese entity in exchange for a 3% commission.

The second case involves alleged cooperation with a developer in the housing and energy sectors. Investigators also noted the illegal installation of emergency lights on a vehicle.

Wojciech Król has issued an ironic statement denying the allegations. He specifically refuted the claims regarding a trip to Thailand, stating he has never been to the country, and characterized the repeated requests to lift his immunity as attempts to exert psychological pressure.
