Wolves and Brown Bear Spotted in Polish Forests Prompt Safety Alerts

Forests near the village of Pomiechówka in Poland have reported sightings of wolves, the country's largest wild canid. Local forest authorities have reminded residents and visitors to keep a safe distance, stay on marked trails, keep dogs leashed, and avoid feeding wildlife.

In the Dębica municipality, a brown bear was observed in the areas of Gołęczyna and Głobikowa. Experts suggest the animal is likely a young individual far from its typical range. Rangers advise hikers to avoid solitary trips, move only on designated paths, make their presence known, and retreat calmly if they encounter the bear.

Both species are protected, and officials ask the public to report any further sightings to the relevant forest services.
