In the 2026 first-round elections in Mato Grosso, Brazil, female voters demonstrated higher engagement levels than men. Data from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) shows that 1,076,284 women cast votes, surpassing the number of male voters by nearly 100,000.

High engagement was noted across various demographics, including adolescents aged 16-17 and young adults aged 18-29. The highest turnout recorded in the state was among women aged 55 to 59, at 86.79%.

Reflecting on the election results, re-elected Federal Deputy Coronel Fernanda, who became the most voted deputy in the history of Mato Grosso, noted that the increased presence of women in politics represents an advancement for democracy. She highlighted that the state also elected two women to the Chamber of Deputies and two to the Legislative Assembly.
