Women represent 40% of Brazil's rural decision-makers

A new study titled ‘Perfil da Mulher do Agronegócio Brasileiro: 10 anos de transformação e avanços’, released by the Associação Brasileira do Agronegócio (ABAG) during the Global Agribusiness Festival, reveals a significant increase in female participation in Brazil's agribusiness sector over the last decade.

Data from Serasa Experian indicates that women represent 40% of the 10.7 million rural decision-makers in Brazil. The research highlights that women have moved beyond seeking recognition to assuming strategic management roles, utilizing technology, and increasing professional qualifications.

Financial and environmental metrics show positive trends for female producers. The study notes that women have lower default rates on credit compared to men, with specific low rates recorded among large landowners and producers in the South region. Additionally, properties under exclusive female management show minimal legal restrictions and environmental liabilities regarding deforestation and labor compliance.
