Women's empowerment initiatives launch in Recife and Guarulhos
Various initiatives in Brazil are focusing on women's economic empowerment through specialized training and business development.
In Recife, the Instituto Vizinhos Solidários is offering free crochet and embroidery workshops for women in the Pina community. The program provides all necessary materials, including needles, thread, and fabric, and features small classes to ensure close instruction. To promote financial independence, the institute sells the finished pieces in its bazaar and returns 100% of the proceeds to the creators.
In Guarulhos, the Casa da Mulher Vila Camargos, in partnership with Sebrae and the Subsecretaria de Políticas para as Mulheres, is hosting a three-month 'Business Incubation' course. This practical program is designed for women with existing commercial activities who wish to formalize and scale their ventures. The curriculum covers essential topics such as market research, pricing, financial management, marketing, and brand identity.
