Women's rights initiatives held in Aragua and Zulia, Venezuela

In the state of Aragua, the Santiago Mariño Municipal Council held a special session to celebrate Feminist Socialism Day. During the event, local authorities presented recognitions to women serving as leaders, mothers, and protectors to honor their contributions to social equality. Attendees included Katiana Hernández, president of the Legislative Council of the State of Aragua, and Mónica Herrera, president of the Aragua Women's Institute.

In the Lagunillas municipality of Zulia, the Municipal Institute of Women (Immujel) hosted a training workshop for local journalists. Organized in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the workshop, titled “Narratives that weave equality: gender perspective and addressing gender-based violence in journalism,” aims to teach media professionals how to report on gender-based violence without revictimizing survivors. Johana Boscán, president of Immujel, noted that this is the first training of its kind to reach the municipality.
