WONI of LISSENCE Refutes Middle School Delinquent Rumor

Online rumors claimed that K‑pop idol WONI, a member of the girl group LISSENCE, had been a school delinquent during her middle‑school years. A user posted accusations without evidence, prompting widespread discussion on social media.

A former middle‑school teacher, who identified himself as “A,” responded on his own social‑media account, presenting a letter written by WONI, photographs with classmates, a graduation album, and past messages with other teachers to prove he taught her in grades 2‑3. He described WONI as a student‑council officer who regularly participated in anti‑bullying campaigns, gave his teacher candy, and was well‑liked by peers. After posting a farewell message urging the public to stop baseless criticism, the teacher deleted his account. The original accuser also removed the post. LISSENCE’s agency has not issued an official comment.
