World Bank approves $667 million for Vietnam infrastructure

The World Bank has approved nearly $667 million for projects in Vietnam aimed at improving infrastructure and climate change adaptation for the fisheries and agricultural sectors.

In Hai Phong, a $260 million project will focus on developing a new section of Ring Road 3 to improve transport connectivity and reduce freight transit times. The initiative also includes expanding wastewater treatment capacity and protecting the city's historic center from flooding risks.

In the Mekong Delta, a $251 million project will upgrade approximately 251 km of key national highways to international safety standards. This infrastructure is expected to benefit roughly 856,800 people by ensuring stable year-round transport links, helping farmers move agricultural products to markets despite extreme weather and flooding.
