World College Radio Day 2026 celebrations announced

To celebrate World College Radio Day 2026, the University of Fiji’s campus radio station, Vox Populi, will host a 72-hour live radio marathon. Under the theme “HOPE – Always in the Air!”, the event aims to demonstrate the reliability of radio communication when other modes fail. The marathon will feature live broadcasting, entertainment, and interactive programming, while providing journalism and media students with practical broadcasting experience.

In conjunction with the global celebration, The College Radio Society has launched a research and archive project titled “The History of College Radio in 100 Objects.” The initiative seeks contributions from the community, including artifacts such as vintage station IDs, handwritten logbooks, and historic broadcast equipment, to document the heritage of student broadcasting.
