World CPR Day training initiatives held in Argentina and Peru
In observance of World CPR Day, educational and governmental institutions in Argentina and Peru conducted training sessions to improve community emergency response capabilities.
In Rosario, Argentina, the Government of the Province of Santa Fe organized an interministerial training day at Plaza San Martín. More than 600 students and adults participated in practical activities focused on prevention and emergency response. The initiative, coordinated by the ministries of Education, Health, Justice and Security, and Government, aims to equip citizens with tools to act during medical emergencies and understand when to contact emergency services.
In Ayacucho, Peru, the School of Nursing at the Universidad Nacional de San Cristóbal de Huamanga (UNSCH) held a theoretical and practical workshop at its university residence. The training, led by the Social Responsibility Committee, taught participants how to verify scene safety, check responsiveness, activate emergency services, and perform chest compressions. The program seeks to train university promoters to share these life-saving skills with schools and local municipalities.
