World Environment Day prompts clean‑up in Cabo San Lucas and puppet‑theatre in Sierra de Juárez

On June 5, municipal authorities in Cabo San Lucas organized a 9.5‑kilometre clean‑up of the Salto Seco arroyo as part of World Environment Day. Delegated Karina de la O Uribe called on volunteers, public servants, firefighters, the navy, the National Guard and local businesses to remove household waste, using 40 dump trucks and ten excavators to clear the waterway and reduce hurricane‑season risks.

The following day, a community theatre collective and the Shuto puppet company presented the free family show “En Búsqueda del Tesoro” in the Barrio Alto neighbourhood near the Sierra de Juárez. The performance aimed to raise environmental awareness, encourage local residents to protect the desert ecosystem and gather signatures for a conservation petition.
