World Humanoid Robot Games held in Beijing
The second edition of the World Humanoid Robot Games took place from August 22 to 26, 2026, at the National Speed Skating Oval in Beijing. The event featured 2,056 humanoid robots from 16 different countries, participating in 51 diverse disciplines including soccer, tennis, ping-pong, and various running events.
During the competition, a cheerleader robot experienced a failure during its performance and had to be removed from the floor on a stretcher by technicians. The games are designed to test the reactivity, balance, movement, and hardware durability of robots in unpredictable physical environments, providing researchers with real-world data to improve artificial intelligence and mobility.
