World Naked Bike Ride launches in Berlin
The World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) held its first event in Berlin on Sunday, organized by naturist activist Ralf Sprenger and the Taunus‑naked‑Mountain‑Bike group. Around a thousand participants rode a 33‑kilometre route that passed landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag.
Police authorities granted permission for full nudity, emphasizing that the demonstration is non‑sexual, family‑friendly and intended to promote naturist values of openness and respect. Organisers asked spectators to behave respectfully and highlighted that no visible intimate jewellery or fetish accessories would be allowed.
The ride aims to show that diverse lifestyles belong in society and to encourage direct, mask‑free interaction among people, reflecting the broader naturist philosophy of equality and self‑acceptance.
