Therese Johaug delivers impressive half marathon time in Copenhagen

Former cross-country skiing star Therese Johaug delivered a standout performance at the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Copenhagen. Competing in the mass participation segment rather than the elite group, the 38-year-old Norwegian clocked a time of 1:08:43. This result surpassed the Polish national record and was faster than the top European finisher in the official championship elite race.

In the elite women's half marathon, Kenya's Agnes Ngetich secured victory with a world-record time of 1:05:15. In the men's competition, Sweden's Andreas Almgren won gold and set a new European record with a time of 58:06, marking the first time a European male has won the championship half marathon in 30 years.

Other notable results from the event included Andreas Fjeld Halvorsen finishing 22nd in the men's mile, while Thijs Nijhuis placed 76th in the half marathon.
