World Surf League Championship Tour arrives in Siargao
The World Surf League (WSL) Philippines Pro Championship Tour is scheduled to take place at Cloud 9 in Siargao from October 30 to November 1, 2026. This event marks the first time the WSL Championship Tour has been held in the Philippines.
The competition features a field of 40 surfers, including top-ranked athletes such as Brazil’s Yago Dora, Italy’s Leonardo Fioravanti, and Japan’s Kanoa Igarashi. The women’s division includes Australia’s Molly Picklum, US surfer Caroline Marks, and Hawaii’s Gabriela Bryan. Australian surfer Sierra Kerr has also secured a wildcard entry for the event.
Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Patrick Gregorio noted that the event serves as a significant driver for sports tourism, aiming to showcase the country and stimulate local economies. The initiative aligns with government efforts to position the Philippines as a premier destination for international sporting events.
