World Triathlon and PTO launch unified Triathlon World Tour with 2027 T50 and T100 calendars

World Triathlon and the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) announced a unified Triathlon World Tour starting in 2027. The existing World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) will be rebranded as the T50 World Championship Tour, while the current T100 series will become the T100 World Championship Tour. The two tiers will run under a single brand, with a new Challenger level providing a qualification pathway.

Preliminary 2027 calendars were released. The T50 tour will visit Abu Dhabi, Samarkand, Yokohama, Rome, Los Angeles, London, Hamburg, Weihai and Tauranga. The T100 tour will include the Gold Coast, Singapore, San Francisco, Vancouver, Marbella, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and a French Riviera event. The schedule aims to grow the sport, attract sponsors and give athletes clearer pathways.

World Triathlon president Antonio Arimany and PTO CEO Sam Renouf highlighted the need to end fragmentation and create a win‑win structure for athletes, host cities and commercial partners. Olympic medallist Taylor Knibb and other elite triathletes praised the changes as a boost for short‑course and long‑distance racing alike.
