London 2026 WTCS and 2027 Unified Tour

London hosted a sprint‑distance stop of the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) on 25 July 2026 at the Excel Centre and Royal Docks, drawing roughly 5,300 amateurs alongside elite athletes such as Jess Fullagar, Alex Yee, Beth Potter and Georgia Taylor‑Brown. The race contributed points toward WTCS standings and Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualification and was broadcast live in the United Kingdom and Spain, with global streaming via the World Triathlon platform.

Later in July, World Triathlon and the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) unveiled a unified Triathlon World Tour for 2027. The former WTCS will be rebranded as the T50 World Championship Tour, while the current T100 series becomes the T100 World Championship Tour; a new Challenger tier will provide additional qualification routes. Preliminary 2027 calendars list T50 events in Abu Dhabi, Samarkand, Yokohama, Rome, Los Angeles, London, Hamburg, Weihai and Tauranga, and T100 events in the Gold Coast, Singapore, San Francisco, Vancouver, Marbella, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the French Riviera.

World Triathlon President Antonio Arimany and PTO CEO Sam Renouf said the restructure ends fragmentation and creates a “win‑win” model for athletes, host cities and commercial partners. Olympian Taylor Knibb and other elite triathletes welcomed the changes as a boost for both short‑course and long‑distance racing and highlighted expected improvements in media production and sponsor appeal.
