World Triathlon launches Triathlon World Tour 2027 to reshape competition format

World Triathlon President Antonio Arimany announced the launch of the Triathlon World Tour 2027, rebranding the sport’s top‑level circuit. The new Tour will replace the WTCS and T100 World Championship events with unified T50 and T100 series, creating a single commercial and competitive structure. Arimany highlighted that the sport was previously fragmented and that the changes are needed now to support the Olympic qualification cycle for Los Angeles 2028. The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) co‑announced the rebrand, emphasizing a modern business model, greater media impact and a significant investment in improved audiovisual production. The initiative aims to accelerate the international growth of triathlon and increase its global media footprint.
