WorldSBK announces 2027 calendar with China debut

The WorldSBK has announced its preliminary 12-round calendar for the 2027 season, featuring a historic debut in China and the return of Valencia to the schedule. The season is set to begin in February at Phillip Island, Australia, which will serve as the final appearance for the venue before the Australian round moves to The Bend in 2028.

In a significant expansion, the season will conclude for the first time in Shanghai, China, at the Shanghai International Circuit from October 29 to 31. This move follows the increasing influence of Chinese manufacturers such as Kove, QJMOTOR, and ZXMOTO within the championship paddock. WorldSBK Executive Director Gregorio Lavilla described the Shanghai event as a “milestone” for the series.

The 2027 schedule also marks the return of Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, which has not hosted the series since 2010. Spain will host two rounds, with the second taking place at MotorLand Aragon. Other confirmed European stops include Portimao, Assen, Most, Misano, Donington Park, Magny-Cours, Cremona, and Estoril.
