WorldSBK 2027 season calendar announcement

Overview

The WorldSBK has announced its preliminary 12-round calendar for the 2027 season, highlighted by a historic debut at the Shanghai International Circuit in China. This expansion into the Asian market is intended to provide manufacturers such as Ducati, BMW, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Honda with direct exposure to a major consumer base, following the increasing influence of Chinese manufacturers like Kove, QJMOTOR, and ZXMOTO within the paddock. WorldSBK Executive Director Gregorio Lavilla described the Shanghai event as a “milestone” for the series.

The 2027 schedule also includes several European changes. The Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia will return to the schedule for the first time since 2010, while the Jerez-Ángel Nieto circuit has been removed. Additionally, the round at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic will undergo a date shift to provide improved weather conditions and weekend programming.

Other confirmed venues include Phillip Island, Australia, which will host the season opener in February before the Australian round moves to The Bend in 2028. The European calendar features rounds in Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, and Portugal.
