Worten shifts focus to Canary Islands as it ends mainland Spain online sales
Portuguese electronics retailer Worten, owned by Sonae, announced a "buy 4, pay 3" promotion in the Canary Islands that runs until Monday 6 July. Customers can select any four items from its catalogue and receive the cheapest one for free, with the offer available in the chain’s 24 island stores and online. The promotion is part of Worten’s effort to attract Canary Island families with discounted home‑appliance and technology purchases.
At the same time, Worten will close its e‑commerce platform for mainland Spain on 31 July, concentrating on territories it deems strategic, such as the Canary Islands and Portugal. The OCU warned that the shutdown could create delivery, return and customer‑service issues, but stressed that consumer rights – a 30‑day delivery limit, 14‑day withdrawal period and full product guarantees – remain intact.
