WRC Promoter Sold to New Management Led by Eric Boullier

The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) announced the acquisition of WRC Promoter GmbH by a consortium that includes the French automotive group Cosmobilisi and private‑equity firm Park Square Capital. The deal, described as the most significant in the sport’s history, spans roughly 25 years and is intended to inject substantial investment into the World Rally Championship (WRC). Former Formula 1 team director Eric Boullier has been appointed chief executive officer of the newly‑owned promoter, with former FIA vice‑president Malcolm Wilson supporting the transition. Drivers such as Thierry Neuville welcomed the change, saying it could restore the championship’s prestige. The first event under the new management will be the Rally Paraguay later this month, marking the start of a new era for the series.

The sale is expected to bring fresh commercial rights, technical regulation updates for 2027, and a broader international profile for the WRC, while promising a more fan‑focused approach from the new leadership.
