Andy Williams, known as ‘The Butcher’, dies at 48 after wrestling collapse
Professional wrestler Andy Williams, known by his ring name ‘The Butcher’, has died at the age of 48. Williams collapsed following a tag-team match during an Enjoy Wrestling event at the Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania.
On-site medical staff performed CPR and utilized an AED before Williams was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. While the official cause of death is pending an autopsy, promoters noted that symptoms were consistent with a cardiac event. The incident led to the immediate suspension of the event.
Williams was a prominent figure in both the wrestling and music industries. He was a former All Elite Wrestling (AEW) talent, where he competed as part of the ‘Butcher & The Blade’ tag team. Additionally, he was a founding member and rhythm guitarist for the metalcore band Every Time I Die. Tributes have poured in from wrestling colleagues and former bandmates, honoring his dual legacy as an athlete and musician.
