Writer Murat Koparan found dead in Istanbul villa

Writer and digital thinker Murat Koparan was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head in a villa in the Bahçelievler neighborhood of Üsküdar, Istanbul. The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 25, around 16:15.

According to reports, Koparan was speaking with his former wife, Elif Feyza Y., on the phone when a gunshot was heard during the call. She subsequently alerted the police. Emergency services, including police, medical teams, and firefighters, arrived at the scene. Firefighters accessed the building via a balcony to reach the third floor, where Koparan was discovered in a bathroom.

An unlicensed handgun was recovered at the scene. Koparan, a father of four, was known for his theological writings and digital works exploring topics such as eschatology, religious prophecies, and the New World Order. An investigation into the circumstances of his death is currently underway.
