The Warehouse Receipts Registration Board (WRRB) met with the Warehouse Operators Union in Dodoma to discuss operational frameworks ahead of the 2026/27 cashew season, which is scheduled to launch on October 12, 2026.

During the meeting, WRRB Executive Director Asangye Bangu emphasized that only warehouses meeting specific quality standards will be licensed. This measure is intended to protect raw cashew quality against potential damage from El Nino rainfall. Bangu also urged farmers to ensure cashews are dried according to established moisture content criteria.

Abdulkarim Masoud, Chairman of the Warehouse Operators Union, noted that the discussions were aimed at resolving recent grievances to ensure the upcoming season operates efficiently.
