Würzburg Mayor Vorlová Celebrates Record Participation in 2026 City Cycling Campaign

During the 2026 STADTRADELN event in Würzburg, cyclists rode 749,081 kilometers over three weeks, avoiding the emission of 123 tonnes of CO₂. The campaign attracted 4,407 children, youth and adults across 154 teams.

Mayor Dr. Sandra Vorlová presented awards, praising the health, air quality and noise‑reduction benefits of cycling, and highlighted the event’s role in supporting leprosy work in Togo. Donations of roughly €4,000 and additional contributions will help treat about 80 people affected by leprosy.

The prize ceremony featured an e‑bike valued at €3,199 and acknowledged the support of local sponsors such as Sparkasse Mainfranken Würzburg and Max Lamb GmbH.
