WTTC urges calm as Ebola risk in Africa stays low

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) said the Ebola outbreak remains confined to specific areas in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda and that the global risk to international travelers is low. WTTC president Gloria Guevara called for "calm, coordinated, evidence‑based" responses, warned against misinformation and noted that temporary flight suspensions to Uganda had been imposed as a precaution.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has downgraded the overall risk for most of Africa to "low," while keeping it high in the DRC and neighbouring countries. Travelers are advised to follow official health guidance and source information from trusted authorities.
