WWII German motorcycle discovered in the Danube river

A World War II-era German DKW NZ 350-1 motorcycle has been discovered in the Danube river near Budapest, Hungary, following a drop in water levels. The Hungarian Military Institute and its Museum of Military History were called to the site to manage the excavation.

During the recovery process, bomb disposal experts had to secure the area due to the presence of German Tellermine 35 anti-tank mines and hand grenades near the vehicle. The motorcycle, which weighed approximately 440lbs due to mud accumulation, was successfully retrieved.

In addition to the motorcycle, two sets of unidentified human remains were found at the site. The German War Graves Commission noted that two intact dog tags belonging to a Wehrmacht soldier and a Waffen-SS member were recovered, though it remains unknown if they are connected to the motorcycle or the remains.
