Wyoming faces severe thunderstorms with hail, tornado threat

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for southeast Wyoming, including Cheyenne and Laramie. The alert warns of very large hail, damaging winds, a few possible tornadoes, localized flash flooding and heightened fire‑weather conditions, with wind gusts potentially reaching 35‑40 mph.

In central Wyoming, Natrona County (Casper) is expected to see high winds of 50‑70 mph this afternoon, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, and a marginal risk of large hail. Temperatures will climb near 88 °F, while the tornado and flood threats remain low. The forecast calls for continued thunderstorm activity into the evening with a gradual return to calmer conditions later in the week.
