Wyoming primary election turnout reaches 54.9% among registered voters

Wyoming's 2026 primary election saw a voter turnout of approximately 54.9% among registered voters, a rate consistent with previous years but lower than the 63.5% recorded in 2022.

In Natrona County, turnout reached a four-cycle low of 51.7%. While the total number of ballots cast increased compared to 2024, the growth in registered voters outpaced participation. Natrona County registration rose by about 30% to 34,318, while ballots cast rose to 17,744. County Clerk Tracy Good noted that some residents cited dissatisfaction with political mudslinging as a reason for not voting.

The election results reflected a deepening Republican tilt in the region. Republicans accounted for approximately 88% to 90% of the total ballots cast, while the Democratic share of the vote decreased significantly. Nonpartisan voters, the county's fastest-growing demographic, showed the lowest participation rate, with fewer than 12% casting ballots.
