Wyoming Stable Token Commission migrates FRNT to Chainlink
The Wyoming Stable Token Commission has completed a full migration of its state-backed digital dollar, the Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), from LayerZero to Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP).
According to the Commission, the decision followed a comprehensive review of LayerZero’s operational security and disclosure practices. Executive Director Anthony Apollo stated that Chainlink was the only provider to meet the Commission’s “stringent security and reliability requirements across the board.” The Commission specifically cited CCIP’s defense-in-depth security approach and institutional certifications, such as SOC2 Type 2, as key factors in the move.
This migration occurs amid a broader trend of decentralized finance (DeFi) assets moving away from LayerZero following security concerns, including the KelpDAO bridge exploit. The shift highlights the intersection of public-sector cryptocurrency policy and the critical importance of secure blockchain interoperability for state-issued digital assets.
