Xanthi mayors to meet Prime Minister Mitsotakis regarding regional needs

Mayors from the Xanthi regional unit are scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Thessaloniki on August 27 to discuss critical regional needs. The meeting will include Stratos Kontos, the Mayor of Xanthi, and Giorgos Tsitiridis, the Mayor of Avderes.

Key demands from the Xanthi municipality include increased funding to cover rising operational costs and expanded responsibilities, the staffing of the Municipal Police, and the restoration of municipal infrastructure damaged during utility network works. Additional topics on the agenda include the functionality of the Xanthi Hospital ICU, attracting investment, population retention, and improving railway connections.
