Xbox CEO Asha Sharma launches 100‑day reboot with Satya Nadella’s backing

Asha Sharma, the newly appointed executive lead of Xbox, says she has full support from Microsoft chief Satya Nadella to reshape the gaming division. Within her first 100 days she scrapped the plan to add the Copilot AI assistant to Xbox consoles, arguing the feature did not align with the console’s future direction. Sharma outlined a broader strategy to revive Xbox, emphasizing the careful integration of AI, a stronger focus on exclusive titles and positioning the brand as the number‑one gaming and entertainment platform. She noted that Microsoft will not pressure Xbox for 30% profit margins and highlighted continued investment in acquisitions such as Activision and Zenimax, hardware cycles and subsidies even if short‑term losses occur.

The 100‑day plan is presented as a restart for the business, aiming to leverage Microsoft’s resources while giving the Xbox team the autonomy to make player‑focused decisions.
