Asobi: Remote Play brings PlayStation cloud streaming to Steam Deck

A third-party application called ‘Asobi: Remote Play’, developed by Inside Internet, has entered a playtest phase on Steam. The app allows users of Steam Deck, Steam Machine, and other Linux-based systems to stream PlayStation games.

Beyond standard remote play from a local PS4 or PS5 console, the app introduces cloud streaming capabilities. With an active PlayStation Plus Premium subscription and a PlayStation Network account, users can stream select PS5 titles directly from Sony’s servers without needing a physical console. This functionality mirrors features found on Sony’s PlayStation Portal.

During the current playtest, all premium features are unlocked for free, including 1080p resolution at 60fps, HDR, 4K upscaling, low-latency modes, and controller haptics. The standard free version is expected to be limited to 1080p at 30fps. The app is not affiliated with or endorsed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. A Windows version is reportedly in development.
