Xi Jinping visits North Korea with top aides, boosting China‑North Korea alliance
Chinese President Xi Jinping travelled to North Korea accompanied by senior Party officials Chai Chi, a member of the Politburo Standing Committee and head of the Central Party School, and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who leads China’s diplomatic corps. Their presence adds significant political weight to the state visit.
The delegation seeks to reinforce the long‑standing party‑to‑party bond between Beijing and Pyongyang and to coordinate anti‑Western cooperation, following recent high‑level contacts with the United States and Russia. Economic cooperation is also expected to be discussed, echoing similar high‑level Chinese visits to the North in 2019.
