Xiaomi 18 series launch moved up, Ultra model cancelled
Xiaomi plans to bring its upcoming premium Xiaomi 18 lineup to global markets in December, ahead of the usual first‑quarter rollout. The accelerated schedule targets the holiday sales period and will begin with India, according to analyst Yogesh Brar.
The company is cancelling the previously expected Xiaomi 18 Ultra. The new highest‑end model will be the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, which will be produced in limited quantities and take over the Ultra’s role. The shift is attributed to a shortage of memory chips that would have pushed the Ultra’s price toward €300 for consumers.
The revised family will consist of the Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro and the limited‑stock Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, marking one of the biggest changes to the maker’s global launch calendar in recent years.
