Xiaomi launches Redmi 17 and Note 17 series with high-capacity batteries

Xiaomi has launched several new devices in the Redmi series across multiple global markets, focusing heavily on high-capacity battery technology.

In India, the Redmi 17 5G has been released, featuring a 7,900mAh battery, a 6.9-inch 120Hz display, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset. The device supports 45W turbo charging and includes a dynamic RGB light system for notifications. It is priced starting at approximately INR 23,999.

In Malaysia and other regions, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G has debuted, boasting a massive 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. This model supports 100W fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging, allowing it to act as a power source for other accessories. The Note 17 series in Malaysia also includes the Redmi Note 17 5G and the standard Redmi Note 17, both featuring significant battery capacities and high waterproof ratings.

In South Africa, the Redmi 17 is scheduled for launch on September 7, 2026, offering a 7,500mAh battery and a 50MP AI dual camera system. Additionally, Xiaomi has introduced new wearables, including the Redmi Watch 6 Lite and Redmi Watch 6 Active, alongside the Redmi Headphones Neo.
