Xiaomi launches SkyNomad N70 and N90 EREV SUVs with up to 505 km electric range

Xiaomi Auto has unveiled the SkyNomad series, a line of extended‑range electric (EREV) SUVs that combine a gasoline‑driven generator with electric drive units. The first model, the SkyNomad N70, is a five‑seat SUV 4.96 m long. It is offered in a rear‑wheel‑drive version with a 210 kW electric motor and a 52 kWh LFP battery delivering about 270 km of pure‑electric range, and a Max version with all‑wheel drive, a combined 310 kW output and a 76 kWh NMC battery providing up to 380 km of electric range. Both variants use a 1.5‑litre gasoline engine solely to recharge the battery.

The larger SkyNomad N90 measures 5.28 m, seats five or seven, and is powered by two electric motors and the same 1.5‑litre generator, giving a total 416 hp and an electric range of 505 km under the Chinese CLTC cycle, the longest reported for a hybrid SUV. It will be displayed at the Chengdu Auto Show on 21 August, with a tentative price of about 200 000 yuan (≈ 26 000 EUR). The vehicles feature LiDAR on the roof, semi‑hidden door handles and electric side steps, and have been certified by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
