Xiaomi launches SkyNomad 7‑seat EREV SUV with 1,700 km range

Xiaomi unveiled its SkyNomad series in China, introducing two extended‑range electric SUVs built on the new Kunlun platform. The flagship N90 Max is a seven‑seat model priced at 299,900 yuan (≈ $44,400) and measures 5.28 m in length with a 3.08 m wheelbase. The smaller N70 Max seats five, costs 259,900 yuan, and is 5.03 m long. Both use a 76 kWh battery paired with a 1.5‑litre turbocharged gasoline generator that acts solely as a range extender. Xiaomi claims a combined CLTC range of up to 1,705 km (≈ 1,059 mi) and an electric‑only range of up to 505 km. Power output reaches 310 kW (≈ 416 hp). The interior is highly modular: front seats rotate 180°, a central armrest becomes a table, optional fridge and overhead speakers are offered, and a “Camping Edition” adds a pop‑up roof, loft‑style sleeping platform, tent attachment points and a built‑in projector. Deliveries are slated to start in September 2024, with Xiaomi planning to enter European markets in 2027.
