Xiaomi rolls out Android 17 on HyperOS 3.3, postpones HyperOS 4 and ends updates for nine phones

Xiaomi is preparing to bring Android 17 to its devices, but the update will ship with a transitional version of the company’s own operating system, HyperOS 3.3, rather than the expected HyperOS 4. Internal firmware leaks show the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra already running unreleased HyperOS 3.3 builds based on Android 17, with a public rollout planned for July or August. HyperOS 4 is anticipated later in the summer and is said to include a visual redesign, deeper AI integration and new privacy features.

The company also began recruiting beta testers for the final release of HyperOS on the Redmi K90 Supreme, warning participants that the software may be unstable and requires technical knowledge.

Separately, Xiaomi released an End‑of‑Life (EOL) list that removes nine models from further software or security updates. The list covers devices from the Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO lines, such as the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro and various POCO models, meaning owners of these phones will no longer receive patches and are advised to consider replacement.
