POCO X8 Set to Launch as Rebadged Redmi Note 17 Pro with Massive Battery
After earlier speculation that the POCO X8 had been cancelled, several leaks revealed the model is still in development. The device was discovered in Xiaomi's HyperOS source code, indicating a forthcoming release. Analysts say the POCO X8 will be a rebadged version of the Chinese Redmi Note 17 Pro, sharing its 50 MP main camera and 2 MP depth sensor. Regional variants are expected to differ in battery capacity: an Indian version may keep the 9 000 mAh cell used in the Chinese model, while the global version could ship with an 8 340 mAh battery. The phone is reported to feature a 6.83‑inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor. Some reports also mention a POCO X8 Pro Max variant with an 8 500 mAh battery and a steep price cut. Xiaomi has not issued an official announcement, but the multiple code‑level sightings suggest a launch is imminent.
