Xiaomi Redmi launches K90 Ultra and hints at 7‑inch performance phone with massive battery

Xiaomi's Redmi brand introduced the Redmi K90 Ultra, a performance‑focused smartphone targeting mobile gamers. It features a 6.83‑inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 165 Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with a separate graphics chip, active fan cooling, and an 8 550 mAh battery that supports 100 W wired fast charging and 22.5 W reverse charging. The device ships with 12 or 16 GB of RAM, 256 or 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage, a 50 MP main camera, and runs on HyperOS 3 with 5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. In China it is priced from 2 999 yuan; a Turkish launch date has not been confirmed.

Separately, leaked specifications suggest Redmi is developing a 7‑inch high‑performance phone that would blur the line between smartphone and tablet. The rumored device would sport a 2K screen, a 10 000 mAh (potentially up to 12 000 mAh) battery, and a 3 nm chipset—either MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 or a custom Xiaomi design. Possible model names include a Turbo 6 Max variant or a fourth model in the upcoming K100 series. It is expected to carry IP68/69 protection, an ultrasonic under‑display fingerprint sensor, and a metal frame.
