Xiluo Qikan Martial Arts Carnival to debut in September

The 2026 Xiluo Qikan Martial Arts Carnival is scheduled to take place from September 26 to 28 at the Sen-Huo Wu-Shu Park. The event, themed ‘Martial Arts Moves in Xiluo, Mirroring Qikan,’ aims to integrate traditional skills with modern technology, campus education, and local tourism.

Key highlights of this year’s festival include the inaugural martial arts group observation competition for elementary and middle school students, as well as a popular martial arts road run. The opening ceremony will feature a traditional ‘worshiping the ancestors and respecting the master’ ritual, involving demonstrations by three generations of practitioners to emphasize the spirit of lineage and respect.

To support the preservation of this cultural heritage, the Yunlin County Government is investing NT$493 million to construct the Xiluo Qikan Martial Arts Park. This facility is intended to serve as a national base for teaching, performing, competing, and cultural preservation, building upon 30 years of martial arts education initiatives in the region.
