Xpeng launches L03 electric SUV in France

Chinese automaker Xpeng has launched the L03, an electric SUV coupe, in the French market with a starting price of €34,990. While the vehicle is priced significantly lower in China, the European price reflects import fees and taxes, and the model does not qualify for French ecological bonuses.

Designed by former Ferrari designer Ranma Lopez, the 4.65-meter vehicle features a fluid aesthetic and flush door handles. However, reviews note a surprisingly small trunk capacity. Unlike some other Xpeng models, the L03 lacks the brand’s signature 800-volt architecture for ultra-fast charging, though it still offers a 10-80% charge in 22 minutes and an advertised WLTP range of up to 520 km.

Positioned as a competitor to the Tesla Model Y, the L03 aims to attract customers through a high equipment-to-price ratio. Despite its ambitions, some assessments suggest the vehicle may have been oversold, citing performance differences between the rear-wheel-drive and performance versions.
